Before Paddy Fest filled Williams Park with music, dancing, and pints raised high, it started the same way a lot of good Irish stories do — inside Mary Margaret’s Olde Irish Tavern.
Pete Boland, one of the owners of Mary Margaret’s, wanted St. Pete to have a proper St. Patrick’s celebration — one that felt rooted in Irish culture, community, and good craic, not just green beer for a day. What began as conversations around the bar turned into a bigger idea: bring Irish music, dance, food, and family together in the heart of downtown St. Pete.
That idea became Paddy Fest.
Since its first year, Paddy Fest has grown into a multi-day celebration at Williams Park, featuring live Irish bands, traditional dancers, great food, cold pints, and the same welcoming spirit you feel the moment you walk into Mary Margaret’s.
At its core, Paddy Fest is an extension of the pub itself — community over pints, music that pulls you in, tradition mixed with St. Pete soul.
What started at Mary Margaret’s is now one of the city’s most anticipated spring traditions — and we’re just getting started.
Sláinte to the past, the present, and what’s ahead.
